This FY 2023 update of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) is based on the World Health Organizations Tenth Revision, International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). ICD-10-CM is the official system of assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures associated with hospital utilization in the United States. Now enables quick and easily drill down to a specific condition via medical systems. Updates went into effect on April 1, 2023, have been released and include 42 new ICD-10-CM codes, seven code deletions, and one revised code. The new ICD-10 codes are in Chapters 19, 20, and 21.
